Battlefield 5’s latest update, Overture, features a new single-player campaign mission. Called “The Last Tiger,” it puts players in the commander’s cupola of an awesomely powerful Tiger I tank, arguably the single most devastating weapon system ever fielded by Nazi Germany. Rather than a celebration of the soldiers inside their steel beast, the experience is a resounding denouncement of fascism in all its forms.
The main playable character in “The Last Tiger” is Peter Müller, a black-clad German tank commander, charged with a last-ditch defense of a town near the Rhine river. The fighting is close-quarters, with U.S. Sherman tanks and light armored cars literally bouncing off the front fender at times.
The gameplay itself is fairly easy, with the biggest challenge coming in the final few moments in a cramped courtyard outside a destroyed cathedral. The mission’s only stumbles come when Müller has to get out of the tank and sneak through Allied lines, once to retrieve intelligence and again to man an anti-aircraft gun. The turret sequence itself is particularly grating, as British Blenheim bombers zoom around like aliens from Galaga.
Put simply, I’ve never seen an armor battle quite like this on my PC’s screen before.
When the Tiger’s massive, 88-mm rounds slam into the side of Allied tanks the results are terrifying. Shermans spout flames from every orifice as fuel and ammunition cook off, turning tanks into pressurized vessel filled with fury and death. The pyrotechnics look incredible, especially during the final standoff which takes place at night. While the impact on the tankers inside those Shermans is sanitized somewhat during gameplay, several cutscenes make it clear the kind of suffering the doomed men inside are enduring.
The mission’s conclusion is similarly gutting, and while I won’t spoil it here, it clearly shows which side of history its developers are on. The coda even references the infamous defense given by the perpetrators of the Holocaust during the Nuremberg trials, that German soldiers were “just following orders.” As if that weren’t emphatic enough, the mission’s final lines quote Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones, a novel about the aftermath of the rape and murder of a young girl: “Murderers are not monsters, they’re men. And that’s the most frightening thing about them.”
Overall, the action is intense and strikes a decent balance between historical accuracy and arcade-y fun. The entire experience can be completed in under two hours. Players who finish all of its challenges and pick up all of the collectibles hidden throughout will receive a free cosmetic item.
Ironically, the unlock is an “epic” skin that can be applied to German Tiger I tanks in multiplayer.
That's right they've somehow tried to turn the idea of Germany having completely superior technology into a bad thing. http://archive.fo/Z6aow
And that's the author's twitter. He is unsurprisingly a leftist.
Yeah, DICE is on the right side of history. They're 3 times right.
And 3 rights make a left.
>Still shilling for free
They do know DICE has no money to give them ever, right?
>Defending your country from an invading army
>They habv to add propaganda to remind the goyim not to sympathize with this poor man
>“Murderers are not monsters, they’re men. And that’s the most frightening thing about them.”
Men can do horrible thing, eh?
>one drop of anti-pozz somehow makes up for the complete mockery of history DICE and EA have wrought
I wish someone would storm the DICE offices on Christmas and gun every employee and their families down.
Oh yeah, the guy who got payed to go to a Guitar Hero press event but didn't like the idea of playing these weird toys called "video games" so he decided to talk about politics in the Philippines with a colleague while drinking champagne and eating canapés.
It's that guy?
>German tank mission
>Not about the motherfucking Desert Fox
Had to be at the end of the war so the plot could revolve around guilt tripping the player
It's literally just a huge thick box with an 88 on it. The Tiger II would have been a far more apt choice.
>The Tiger II
>The one with issues up the ass
Full retard, if you want to nitpick choose the Panther, at least that fucking thing was reliable.
>The Tiger II would have been a far more apt choice.
>Thule magic will power my raped transmission!
But the Desert Fox was such an amazing historical figure. Not only that, he's leftist-guilt-free because of how distant he was from command in general. One of my favourite WW2 figures and no one gives half a shit.
>But the Desert Fox was such an amazing historical figure.
He's a Nazi, he doesn't deserve positive recognition
go play an actual good game by some slavs
How is their story a denouncement of fascism? They completely rewrote the Telemark operation, all those brave men who died, British and Norwegians, completely trod on and replaced with mother daughter incest lesbian couple who somehow took on the entire German army in Norway on their own and took out the heavy water facility.
>German soldiers were “just following orders.”
They loved Hitler, supported his ideals and fought for him to the end. They were not "just following orders", they were willingly fighting for what they believed in.
I hate faggots who say the Germans didn't like Hitler more than I hate the ones who portray them as evil monsters.
Sure, some faggy commies disliked him because he took away all their free gibs and degenerate lifestyle, but the massive majority supported him.
Hey now, at least they're not speaking German. Their brave sacrifice in the name of Zionism is appreciated.
I remember trying to play it back when it was new and the game crashing on the 2nd or third mission.
I could probably try it again at some point.
>he took away all their free gibs
I'm not very knowledgeable on this, but didn't he himself start big social programs?
Afrika Desert vs Korps Rats?
Only the late models, a fifth of the Panthers meant to fight at Kursk were delayed by broken transmissions.
Rommel overextended his supply lines at every possible opportunity and never learnt from it.
>I'm not very knowledgeable on this, but didn't he himself start big social programs?
They were gibs designed to support those who were in a time of need. The Weimar Republic's gibs were of the "here's some shekels, please don't spartacist us again :(" kind.
I remember it being pretty enjoyable
Playing as Italians defending a canyon from the Brits and sandbagging my tanks was great
I'm sure the Tiger 2 had even more issues considering into was rushed into production.
>I'm sure the Tiger 2 had even more issues considering into was rushed into production.
It's basically a Tiger 1 with more armor on top of it. It kills the engine and transmission and can't cross any bridges.
Oh no man, that would be super sad. Like it would be a real downer if somebody used hollowpoints and shot them in their extremities and joints to extend their suffering. That would be totally not cool.
The Tiger was nothing but a waste of resources.
Tiger 1 was fine, the others were fine concepts but rushed into production when the nation was in dire straits.
You want to see waste of resources look no further than pic related.
Would be a shame if it was made as painful and bloody as possible. In minecraft, of course.
Even the Tiger 1 was a pointless waste of resources. What's the point of a breakthrough tank when you're not able to go on the offensive anymore?
Germany had a distinct problem with their weapon procurement. Too many different models clogged up supply lines and complicated logistics. They should have stuck with the Panzer IV and Stug III.
Would be a shame if someone poured gasoline on the crawling wounded and then lit it on fire.
The eternal yank strikes again.
>What's the point of a breakthrough tank when you're not able to go on the offensive anymore?
Except the Tiger had been in development since 1937 and there were still offensives by the Axis throughout the Mediterranean when the tank was introduced you dumbshit.
The Germans constantly counterattacked, that was part of their doctrine. The point is that those were limited offensives meant to plug breaches along the defensive line, not proper offensives meant to take territory. By 1942 Germany had lost the war.
>had been in development since 1937
And by the time it got into production it looked nothing like the proposal of 1937, hence why it raped the engine and transmission as hard as it did.
> he's leftist-guilt-free
He was the commander of Hitler's personal escort battalion during the beginning of the war and, despite being an infantry company commander during WW1 and the instructor of the school of infantry he was given command of a Panzer-Division mostly because of his great standing with Hitler, dude. He was only retroactively turned into a tacit resistance fighter because the newly formed German army needed some kind of hero figure.
Personally that makes him even more of a hero to me, because he wasn't one of the Prussian aristocrats who threw Hitler (and Rommel lmao) under the bus to save their own necks, but leftists would probably disagree.
>I'm not very knowledgeable on this, but didn't he himself start big social programs?
He took the welfare that was going to layabouts and diverted it to new families as an incentive to have children.
Not on the right side of the history books though :^)
<underpowered as fuck Porsche engine
<ridiculous weight that was not distributed over a wide enough surface area, defeating the whole point of a tank's treads which was to cross almost any terrain
>no logistical consistency with all of the other tank models making repairs and maintenance difficult
Germany should have stuck to StuGs and Pz 4s then switched to the Panther as soon as it was available. Instead there were too many retards with their fingers in the cookie jar trying to get their pet wunderwaffe to production.
>ITT retards just repost bullshit they were told on faggy youtube "history" channels and think the German tanks were unreliable
>if we repeat the same mistakes surely we'll annihilate all jews next time
>thinks valid criticism of German tanks means cover praise of the T-34
Both the Russians and Americans had their own issues with armor, both in terms of design and use. This doesn't magically make the obvious issues the Germans had go away.
>Panders to these people
>Said people still shit all over them
God this is so fucking tasty
I'm just shitposting, my knowledge of Tank production is severely limited
The Tiger 1 and Panther, and the other "heavies" were unreliable. That's a fact. They were either overdeveloped by too many cooks in the kitchen (Tiger 1) or weren't given enough times to iron out the kinks (Panther, King Tiger).
They weren't as unreliable as Russian tanks, but were still worse than American vehicles. All things considered the US had the best approach to tanks, favoring reliability and using very few models, mainly the Sherman, to ensure better logistics.
>sources: my ass
For the queen? What the fuck? During WWII we had FUCKING KING GEORGE VI YOU NIGGERS.
>being assmad IRL vehicles aren't Mary Sues
Warthunder dev pls go
>still no sources
You act as if the first units off the production for the Tiger I didn't have its fair share of problems too.
Germany used the same chassis and parts for the StuG as the mainline Panzers. The Tiger was a meme tank which revolved solely around putting an 88mm gun on a chassis. It sacrificed virtually everything that actually matters in war, i.e. getting to the battlefield in the first place which is what all assets spend 95% of their time doing. You can't share any parts from a panzer when a Tiger busts a track or something. Hope you found that a little interesting
> arguably the single most devastating weapon system ever fielded by Nazi Germany
>more than half of them broke down before reaching battle
>sources: my ass
The Tiger always had problems. The engine and transmission were not meant to carry the weight of the uparmored redesign. It was a flawed idea that served little purpose besides assuage Allied butthurt when Germans kicked their asses with inferior tanks and numbers.
Also, you need another Tiger to move the turd once it breaks down.
Cry more faggot. Tiger as the other lad said was nothing but a waste of resources and manpower.
It's historically authentic, not accurate, you shitlord
>not the Panther
Tiger I was pretty nice for the time, though.
>not a captured Mark V
The Tiger 1 is much more AESTHETIC than the Panther, anyway.
Also, speaking of
Fuck DICE, have a /k/ manga by Hayao Miyazaki adapting a German tank commander's autobiography.
Hope this wasn't too off-topic.
Thanks anon, what's the name of this?
Not only soldiers respected him, they swore loyalty to Hitler. They were bound by that oath until Hitler killed himself. Also Hitler was a soldier in the previous war so of course soldiers would like him better than some faggot politician, Hitler knew how shitty war was.
>he took away all their free gibs
He didn't, unless you mean to the jews at the very top. There was welfare for food and heat, although at the end of the war they couldn't be delivered. I don't know which groups received it other than pensioners though.
Otto Carius - Tigers in the Mud.
Miyazaki is much more /k/ than most people realise. He drew shittons of warplanes and tanks in his spare time and made several manga about WW2, but none were released in the west and little of this autism makes it into his movies.
>slay for the queen
<not "dab for the queen"
Another missed opportunity.
I had no Idea that a tank could be fascist. Can aircraft also be fascist?
End quote of the The Last Tiger.
but youve turned, and left and right are relative. theyre now facing right but relative to their previous facing it is inverted.
This would actually be a good quote if Men was referring to the human race in general, but in this context it's Males as the context of the quote is a woman who was raped and turned to isolation and feminism.
This disgusts me to no end, we went from mediocre self deprecation trying to be thought provoking to literal feminist propaganda in 10 years.
It's from a book called The Lovely Bones. It's set in the 70s and about a girl who gets raped and murdered and has jackshit to do with WWII or Germany.
Yes, search up the quote and the writer
Also notice how the M in men isn't capitalized
Does one have to use a capital M when writing "men" to refer to humans?
well i gave it a shot and i couldnt find the quote with context behind it. all i get is "cool lists of cool quotes !click here!"
even if youre right it could be one of those quotes that lost its original meaning
Do you got a download somewhere? Torrent I found only has one seed.
I must have been unconscious for this, can I get a rundown?
No, people usually do to avoid confusion
Check the Lovely Bones
Read it, watch the movie, think about who developed this game.
>if you don't like commie terrorists like me, you're an evil fanatic
>how dare trump say that anitfa aren't heroes
It's all so tiresome.
I know your memeing, but that doesn't make any sense. For something to be authentic, it needs to be accurate. You can't have authenticity without accuracy.
this isnt one of your necromancer tricks is it?
Like I said in my post, the guy works for Polygon, he was supposed to do a preview of the last Guitar Hero game (that was a couple of years ago I think) but instead he wrote an entire blog post about how ridiculous it was to press a bunch of buttons on a plastic replica of an instrument so he didn't even try to play the game, he spent the entire press event aside from the crowd, eating canapés and drinking champagne while talking about more big-brain nibba stuff like politics in the Philippines with a colleague.
historically official then
JUST GET IN THE RIDE MEATSACK
'They were just following orders' is a quote about the holohoax, not any disloyalty toward hitler.
Europeans were defending themselves from a 2 pronged assault from Communists and their Allies. They knew damn well that they could only rely only rely on their leaders, as the allies carpetbombed cities with no tactical advantage whatsoever, just to punish the christian nations.
While he didn't do his ridiculously easy job, playing Guitar Hero is retarded when shit like Rocksmith exists.
>17 years after 9/11, jews created a new guilt culture toward muslims in America
>a muslim is now a universal victim-saint
This is why the USA is the cancer of the world
Maybe it was Rocksmith. I don't have the article anymore.
Rocksmith uses a real guitar so you actually learn an instrument.
It was Guitar Hero Live
They are doing this on purpose aren't they?
>obsolete blenheims still being used on front line duty
>tank commanders manning aa guns leaving the tank without commander
>cars charging tanks and running into them
They didn't do a single shred of research that wasn't holocaust related
>the tiger is shit lol
>they should have used the panther
T. Warthunder history expeet
>Not about the motherfucking Desert Fox
Reminder that Rommel was given the choice to either kill himself, or be slandered and executed by a kangaroo court held by jews. He took death.
These people don't play video games.
In fact, they probably don't even LIKE video games. They just want to shove their stupid fucking politics into a popular medium with no regard for the quality of that product.
Don't worry, this is just a phase. Companies can only withstand a few major failures before corporate restructuring and mass layoffs happen. Pretty soon after that the suits will realise that nobody gives a fuck what vidya journos think about a game.
I have no idea too. Ask (((Creative Assembly)))
Isn't one of the campaign's in V about how a single mom and her daughter single-handedly murdered a lot of nazis and destroyed a german weapon factory in Norway, while pretending the british commandos and norwegian resistance members that actually did it in real life didn't exist?
tfw ren pussied out
I wish we'd done like the Japanese and kept our womenfolk in line. This could have all been prevented if our fathers and grandfathers weren't such damn fools.

It's newspeak for bullshit.

Classic marxist subversion, a very bad attempt I might add.
Marxists weaponizing language.

let me guess, you change sides in the second mission and suddenly think nazis and hitler are bad because of something small happening?
>Allied butthurt when Germans kicked their asses with inferior tanks and numbers.
Inherrent advantage to defensive warfare. When you're constantly on the defensive, you're guarranteed to inflict more casualties than you take. Unless you're the Russians and your idea of defense is to just throw bodies towards the enemy.
Burgers built up this myth of the Tiger and the German army in general in an attempt to assuage their wounded egos. With all their advantages in air superiority and materiel they still managed to get spitroasted by the scraps of the Wehrmacht and SS.
>Unless you're the Russians and your idea of defense is to just throw bodies towards the enemy.
That's not how Russians fought, at least not once the initial thrust of the Germans was blunted. Deep Battle is bewegungskrieg on a much larger scale, sacrificing tactical for operational flexibility.
These threads are low effort clickbait shit. No one cares about Battlefield anymore and I don't want to see this trash for the millionth time. Normally I would just hide a thread like this. This thread and all the others like it are just people getting angry, whats the point?
The point is to get angry.
What are you, a faggot?

It also helps to have on-average better optics and alright optical arrangement for all reasonable combat circumstances. Except for urban and close hedgerow warfare, where the gunners' secondary unity sight as on the Sherman is king. It's honestly odd that the Germans never adopted any kind of unity sight arrangement alongside the magnified gunsights, considering they saw fit to give the loader an unmagnified periscope. They had the Gundlach Periscope to work with after all, everyone did, and it shouldn't be hard to see the merit of one or two rotating vision blocs doing the job of six to ten.
A victim of chintzy short war 'rationalization' efforts that carried over into the later war no-frills design attempts, perhaps? Having every crewman have hunter-killer capability with German gun & sight quality would've been terrifying to see. Hence why it had to inexplicably fall through the cracks, be forgotten in the piles of other patents that could put the Axis years ahead if seriously pursued, or get outright sabotaged by some spiteful shortsighted cunt and in all cases all documentation that would tell us what happened indiscriminately burned.
>awesomely powerful Tiger I tank,
The most unreliable tank of the war, they were captured in drove as they broke down on their own so often (which was fairly common in WWII on all vehicles, the difference being all crews where largely able to repair them alone or with some help from battalion mechanics. Once the Tiger I were broken there was no fixing them in the field due to the retarded design of the power train).
The result is that even if was arguably very advanced (so everyone got some as trophy and study material) none of them survived to this day (the only one working doesn't have a Tiger I engine in it) while there are plenty enough of way rarer WWII vehicles in good conditions in museum today (even a Tiger II, the Maus in Russia is supposedly in working condition).
Meanwhile the soviets were vomiting chap and reliable SU-152 (then ISU-152) proof that no problem can never be overcome by a superfluous amount of high explosive and those served until the 70's (hell I wouldn't bet they wouldn't work on modern tanks).
the philippines thing was rockband 4 and another polygon retard, not the one from OP

Germans weren't exactly on the ball when it came to ergonomics. The Panther is notorious for being a godawful tank to crew.
I'm mildly surprised they didn't do the revisionist "ackshully German tanks were terrible and it took five tigers to destroy one M4" narrative that warthunder and WOT have popularized.
The M4's gunnery optics had their own set of problems.
meh, didn't think it would be necessary for a forum post.
>I'm mildly surprised they didn't do the revisionist "ackshully German tanks were terrible and it took five tigers to destroy one M4" narrative that warthunder and WOT have popularized.
that's just pandering, especially russians love their "strong" tanks
(I really should stop posting when drunk, fucking game awards)
>This thread and all the others like it are just people getting angry, whats the point?
People should be angry, there are things to be angry about. Threads like these are to keep people from getting complacent and to keep people informed.
>captured in drove
>The first time they captured one that wasnt a buring pile was as late as April 1943
Let me guess, you played a game with tanks and now you're some sort of expert?
>none of them survived to this day
Would have if the bongs hadnt cut up the original engine of the tiger 131 just so they could put it on display.
>Meanwhile the soviets were vomiting chap and reliable SU-152
>1,885 SU-152 vs 1,347 tiger 1's at the last 2 years of the war
4/10 got me to respond to your post full of fantasies and half truths.
"russians and their ridiculous tanks" have been a part of video games for a while. it goes as far back as red alert if not further. of course, theyre going up against allied armor in that one, and its a fantasy game.
thats cool but we could figure out something cleaner. theres plenty of room but the board is a bit slower than it used to be and it would suck if it got to a point where there are more news threads than actual vidya threads so it might be worth thinking about.
>actual vidya threads
Maybe if some more good vidya came out these last few years, I still enjoy the occasional stalker and morrowind thread but eventually you want something new. The current state of the game industry does reflect a bit on every vidya forum you know
>it goes as far back as red alert if not further. of course, theyre going up against allied armor in that one, and its a fantasy game.
unrealistic performance has been done all over the place in videogames, I meant it more in regards to WOT/WT.
Hitler was a failure. Stop romanticising that failed Austrian painter and find a better German leader to worship. Even Bismarck was better.
>transforms Germany from a cheap whorehouse into a leading superpower in a few short years
That kind of lie only works with other retards, faggot.
The Panther was a bit more of a squeeze than it's usually given discredit for and having unready racks in the turret ring is less than ideal, but it was no T-34. The main reason it sticks out so much for being cramped is that there's so much surplus volume in the tank overall, you wouldn't think it'd be a tight squeeze, but it shares a turret ring with the Panzer IV. They got the commanders' cupola, three-man turret, and universal radio for battle tanks parts down pat, plus a decent understanding of the merits of quality in relation to overpowering quantity. They mostly stop undergunning once Hitler gets angry about the Heer simply ignoring him when he weighed in on the Panzer III gun debate of 37mm or 50mm in favor of the 50, as early as pre-Battle of France if not prewar I recall, when this proves to have been a horrible mistake come Barbarossa.
If they'd just bully the worst parts of the Waffenamt ('the present design is sufficient for our purposes and we see no need for a far-seeing submission at this time,' 'dude gas taps are bad lmao' and 'I'm Ernst Kniepkampff and everything needs the most advanced drivetrain possible regardless of present viability' stand out) into submission and avoid dragging their feet with pre/early war R&D and tooling up in ways that forced production rushes & searches for cureall concepts and one-size-fits-all weapons they don't have nor allow the time for teething, assuming their earlier sins don't hamstring the effort, see for example the Bomber B project and the various engines that could have powered it, but weren't and didn't, thus it never going anywhere, or the MAN Panther and its starry eyed lie of 'a next-generation tank available earlier and better than Daimler-Benz,' you wouldn't have these ridiculous midwar scrambles as it's realized that the 'real' war is not coming in 1944, there will be no swift peace after the fall of France, and that they honestly need to be in the paranoiac war-forced-by-1940 long haul plan in 1933.
Oh, by all means. But the very basic arrangement- everybody beside the commander gets a swiveling periscope in addition to any fixed optics they already have that aren't obsoleted by that periscope- was adopted by everyone postwar for very good reason. It's just one of those bizarre missed things that the Germans had every reason to pick up on, but didn't. The Anglo-Americans were happy to pick up the Gundlach sight. The Soviets loved it so much that they stuck it on all the new tanks they could and basically ignored the commanders' cupola concept up until the doomed T-34M project interrupted by Barbarossa, and they'd soldier on without mass production cupolas until the mid to late war. The Germans passed it up completely in favor of fixed vision blocs, again probably owing to Heer conservative shortsightedness. But why specifically?
>He lost a war against the whole world therefore he was a failure.
I'm gonna fuck you in the ass
You all have SHIT taste, shoo shoo outta the way
Thing is, while the US and Russian also had their fair share of duds and questionable design choices, they could afford to waste time and effort experimenting around. Also, they usually stuck with what worked, even if it wasn't the best possible solution.
Germany on the other hand really didn't have the luxury of going for quantity instead of quality, which is why I think they kept repeatedly failing for the "war-winning wunderwaffe" trap. Even under the most ideal of conditions they could never hope to outproduce the USSR or the US.
Hell, I question if victory in the war was even possible. They certainly severely underestimated the capabilities, both industrial and military, of the USSR.
Several people have already mentioned Stugs you double nigger.
Ummm sweetie, my pronouns are xir and hir.
Now they're double and nigger.
>But why specifically?
Because it's better to give the commander a good view of the battlefield and let the other crew members focus on their jobs rather than make everyone have to share in the commander's role on top of what they are already doing.
A commander's position with a cupola is vastly superior to one with a periscope.
It figures that the best tank of the war wasn't even a tank.
That's a handy target. Just aim for the middle of the union jack as they make a tactical retreat..
>They certainly severely underestimated the capabilities, both industrial and military, of the USSR.
How so? Germany perhaps should've attacked sooner, but then they had fewer armor as well. If you mean why attack the USSR, that was the only hope, Stalin was arming up to take over Europe not to mention he had American support, not attacking them would be suicide.
i dont click on twitter links
Not a good look
>Thing is, while the US and Russian also had their fair share of duds and questionable design choices, they could afford to waste time and effort experimenting around.
>Also, they usually stuck with what worked, even if it wasn't the best possible solution.
In all frankness, it's more like 'in spite of.' The lobby in the Soviet military for getting something substantially better than their last-generation vehicles like the T-34M out were sizable enough, though whether this would result in a German style debacle or a net gain is fuzzily debatable, but the 'muh tooling, we need to scale up!' crowd won out, resulting in massive, atrocious casualty ratios even with the Germans dropping balls. It was the essentially perfect storm of everybody in the Allies staying in the war in the right way at the right time, the failed interruption of logistical lend-lease, and the sheer operational mess the Axis was trying to tactically beat itself out of while acting as separate belligerents more than a coherent alliance that allowed this to work at all, so I can't particularly call it 'what worked' as much as 'what didn't fail' at times. The British had very peculiar ideas about what mess of boilerplate can still constitute a tank. The Americans had obnoxious cliques that were violently against certain upgunnings, particularly surrounding the 90mm heavy anti-air guns and how they shouldn't be on tank destroyers or tanks because reasons.
The latter were at least very forward thinking with the 76mm gun, though, in spite of most people thinking it was a response to the Tiger; it was actually pushed forward with no immediate threat known or in mind, with the ball rolling around North Africa. The Germans need to do that kind of thinking more, just more modestly than they did and without the irrational fear that they were going to suffer another '42 in the East if they didn't build counters to dead Soviet superheavy projects that were totally just around the corner, Porsche swearsies, while at the same time doubling down on existing production with little consideration for incremental upgrades, like, say, an asymmetrically strong front suspension for anti-nosing and an uparmored turret for the Panzer IV.
>Germany on the other hand really didn't have the luxury of going for quantity instead of quality, which is why I think they kept repeatedly failing for the "war-winning wunderwaffe" trap.
In part. And in part it was a matter of this or that man having dalliances of personal taste, or a strong conviction that there's not enough eggs to go around to hedge bets in multiple baskets, or conversely that all the baskets need hedging and also not to talk with one another because the line between 'healthy compartmentalization & competition' and 'cannibal sabotage' has become entirely too blurred.
>Even under the most ideal of conditions they could never hope to outproduce the USSR or the US.
But, neither do they have to. They only have to have enough effectively applied industrial throughput to grind the enemy down, bleed them white, and secure enough elbow room for killing blows. With Germany industrial output peaking when it was at its least operationally intact after a late move to total war, suffice to say if the air campaign goes differently from any number of factors and the heavy flak guns applied more efficiently (namely no box barrages, just shoot the fucking things directly with contact fuses; this was applied very late in the war with 300% efficiency over trying to splash them with timed fuses, meaning the air defense goes down from taking 1/3 of all ammunition production to 1/9th, leaving lots of fresh shells for the chronically understocked artillery; nevermind what might happen with better radar direction from the exploration of the magnetron or the use of SABOTed shells in development latewar) preventing industrial destruction and the oil shortages from the aerial mining of the Danube, they will have that elbow room in materiel to make immediate Allied victory in Europe impossible. It then becomes a matter of what kind of draw or loss it will be.
>Hell, I question if victory in the war was even possible. They certainly severely underestimated the capabilities, both industrial and military, of the USSR.
It was possible. It requires an inverse perfect storm in the Axis, ideologically and strategically, with substantial foresight to fix what are hindsight problems from our timeline, but it is very possible. As for underestimation- blame the Abwehr. A virulent den of incompetents, social democrats, defeatists, White Rose conspirators, and other malcontents, with the department head Wilhelm Canaris being a fairweather Nazi who decided the war was lost as soon as it started, made communiques to Spain that directly led to Franco playing hardball and refusing access to Gibraltar, constantly tried to get/maintain contact with the British for peace terms and like everyone else who did this received the frank statement 'unconditional surrender' from Churchill, and who was only removed in 1944 after the Operation Valkyrie fuckup resulted in some housecleaning.
This absolutely should never have happened, but Canaris was a personal friend to the fanatical Reinhard Heydrich and early investigators were turned away by Himmler for unknown reasons and told to 'leave Mr. Canaris alone;' maybe he was keeping tabs on the Admiral, but didn't want him dead yet, or maybe Heydrich vouched for him. The disparate intelligence services should've all been purged, dismantled, and reconsolidated as early as possible under the offices of the Sicherheitsdienst under Heydrich, who should've done his best not to get killed by a grenade-propelled septic horsehair from his car seat stuffing or whatever exactly killed him in Czechoslovakia. Then, maybe another massive butterfly would be had with German counterintelligence efforts being neck-and-neck or better with the Anglo services, a fair number of commando raids going a lot more poorly, and someone in the SD seeing fit to notice they had a double agent problem and that Enigma was cracked and needed fresh code rotors added.
Sure, but giving the driver a better view range is a no-brainer, giving the gunner a way to quickly get eyes on the target the commander is calling is very useful especially with electronic sync/overrides, and giving the loader the ability to act as an additional pair of eyes until contact is made can't hurt as long as you can provide the optics for him.
>resunding denouncement of fascism
"yeah I don't like nazis"
>WOW SO BRAVE, ASTOUNDING, BREAKING NEW GROUND
>Sure, but giving the driver a better view range is a no-brainer
It helps in some situations, but many times I found that the terrain causes the tank to be tilted so much you either see sky or just ground / bushes from the driver optics making them largely useless. In the end the commander is the one who needs to be aware of the surroundings to be able to make a call where to go and where to shoot, everyone else merely acts as his arms and the broader the picture the commander has the better he is able to understand the overal situation in the field and make good movement / targeting orders.
Anon that was great
Do you know where I can find more like this? I'd love to print this out for my nephew. It's informative and interesting but not overly violent.
If you want something in English, I don't read enough manga to make many recommendations. Miyazaki's Daydream Notes and A Trip to Tynemouth (an adaption of some Robert Westall stories) may count, but I haven't found an English scanlation for the former and the only English scanlation I've seen for the latter was awful.
If we're going with body part metaphors, I'd note that redundant crew optics are, more than just an extra set of eyes, it's like giving a finer sense of 'touch' to the crew in question. Maybe the driver can do without, but everyone has been quite happy to give the driver a half-cupola to see through in modern days instead of one block or one forward block and one offset, with the radioman watching his corner of the hull.
>the broader the picture the commander has the better he is able to understand the overal situation in the field and make good movement / targeting orders.
True, which is why the M1 Abrams has the commanders' cupola set higher than the loaders', but the Leopard 2 has them side-by-side with each presumably covering the others' blind spots just fine, and battle tanks tend to have a periscope or two sticking up making small blind spots for the cupola optics. Now, true, this is on bloated out main battle tanks with substantially more external and internal volume than a Panzer III/IV or Sherman has to work with, but getting a Gundlach or two for the gunner or commander doesn't seem too difficult.
That's a cure for the lone magnified optics problem of the Panther, and more importantly opens the possibility of having partial or true hunter-killer capacity in the early to mid '40s decades ahead of schedule. A single roof blindspot nullified by having the gunner sweep with his unity sight and communicate any spotting, and even that assuming that this German Gundlach is tall enough to be a meaningful blockage, is a small price to pay for precious tens of seconds shaved off
There's also The Return of Hans, but it's fictional and isn't nearly as good.
I saw you post some of this on /animu/ good taste
Thanks. Miyazaki may be overrated and too fond of reusing shit from his older films and manga, but I still think he made some good stuff.
He is an asshole but I can't deny he has made some good shit and I hope you do a dump of this back on /animu/
Where, the Miyazaki thread?
Dice is not only shit because of their sjwism but because they can't make a good FPS to save their lives.
no you have shit taste, get out of my way I got some pizzas to deliver
>He is an asshole
Why, because he said anti-social dweebs are annoying?
it's how they justify their subversion, it means that because there was a single company of american niggers in WWII they can make an entire game about them, because there were suffragetes in early 20th century America you can portray them everywhere and force the player to do main missions for them, etc. These things have a basis in history but it is blown to monstrous proportions for political ends under the guise of artistic liberty
All that bullshit just for a Tiger tank mission, the cucks are finished.
I agree with basicly everyting you said. Extra sights for commander or gunner are a tremendous help as they're the ones who need situational awereness.
I dont suppose thats a huge problem in modern tanks since putting a camera and getting video feed to any of the crew members shouldnt be very hard.
In tanks with no modern cameras extra view for the driver isnt very usefull. Funny you should say "a finer sense of 'touch'" it does feel kinda like that but more like "an additional sense of 'touch". You get a general idea of the terrain through typical driver optics but immediate area around the tank is still much more visible to the commander and you're still going to just listen to his directions.
Otto Carius had over 150 tank kills.
>too fond of reusing shit from his older films and manga
Funny story about that. The way I heard it once said, it's completely deliberate on his part. His stock faces and archetypes, and maybe voices matched to them for all I know, are essentially a case of him making 'actors' in ink. A way to provide familiarity in an an artificial medium, rather than lazy sameness. Or maybe in addition to it, I can't say.
You're right, it wasn't as good, and the resolution looks too small to print, but it was still fun to read and I appreciate you posting it.
If you happen to think of anything else please do post.
Also I feel like starting a game of Darkest Hour and pretending the good guys didn't lose the war
Well considering the fight in North Africa was one of attrition and the Germans didn't have time to sit around, I can understand why they reached so far and continued to use Blitzkrieg tactics. Rommel was always overextended even before he pushed further ahead anyway. His supply train wasn't nearly as secure as the British and the Italians were of little help naval and air wise.
No man there wasn't welfare (free gibs kind) in the Reich. No one got shit for free, unless you were dealing in exports or military, then you were liable to be subsidized but the average consumer still had to pay for their food and shit.
American education pushed the Tiger as the best German tank ever.
>>The one with issues up the ass
You're literally explaining most of Germany's WW2 tanks, m8.
They were reliable and superior, but they were harder to repair since they were overengineered
The worst part of that picture is how smug that mudslime kid looks. I can't tell if that's intentional by the artist or not.
The idea that Germany was in a dire situation or had poor equipment at any point in the war goes against the narrative that Germany was an unstoppable killing force, a narrative that puts the Allied forces in to the underdog role which the vast majority of the world sympathizes with blindly and without thought.
>leftist fascist are antifacist
He is a generally shit person. He neglected his wife hard for example.
It's a term that might mean something if they were talking about the architecture, the food, or the arms and armour used: accurate depictions of Celtic swords for instance are practically impossible to do because the Celts didn't have a unified, universal and uniform design for swords. Historical recreations are typically designed using a multitude of sources, such as artifacts, paintings, carvings and descriptions to create an object that might have been found in that time period. This can't be applied to people, because we have records and artifacts which specifically refer to not only individuals, but their society as a whole.
They could make an entire game about the negro soldiers in WW2 though. But they choose not to, instead depicting WW2 as if it had taken place years after the Civil Rights movement, stripping away any historical significance from the few outliers in favour of depicting an "integrated" and "modern" version of history. It'll bite them in the ass, because one day individuals will be forgotten completely, and the actions said individuals took will be removed from documented history, because what is is how it always was and always will be in the minds of the New Revisionist.

>ackshully German tanks were terrible and it took five tigers to destroy one M4
That reminds me, how come does this have starting to be a trend lately? I mean do they somehow disregard at the astonishing K:D ratio of the tank itself?
<b-b-but anon, K:D ratio doesn't matter in a war!!
Yes it does you dumb piece of shit, War is a number's game so of course it's logical to have a tank that has a chance of killing two more tanks instead of making 2 tanks that has half the chance of killing one. Not to mention that Germany itself was already short of fuel, crews and time. This is why they should've made more StuGs tbhTalking out of hindsight is easy isn't it? this is the crux of their argument after all
my fucking nigger
Stugs > any (((Allied))) assault guns
<Better than the Tiger
No, definitely not when compared to the Tiger. It's comparable at best with the T-34-85
YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING GOY
>That reminds me, how come does this have starting to be a trend lately?
Because the average person builds their view of the world entirely from, memes, media and whatever they want to be true.
This. If they were merely following orders the reich wluld have fell way before the siege and shelling of berlin.
Isn't fascism just corporatized government
>mudslimes are the left's new favorite victim class and the kikes' most reliable weaponized demographic in yurop and burgerlands

No it has other elements.
>Conservatives fully support the jew agenda Especially wars for israel
Neoconservative Boomers in their 60 to 70s do yes, but they are quickly dying off and do not represent modern conservatism in the United States. Neoconservative was created by jews to serve jews. It hardly can even be called conservatism because it conserves nothing. Not the people of the nation, it's traditions or its language

blood, guts, everything, and show everything
people can hate nazis for something they have actually done, instead of relying of fantasy villains
People who claim "the right side of history" are outright claiming to rewrite history, this whole game is just that, trying to make rewriting history normal to 12 years old.
>That reminds me, how come does this have starting to be a trend lately?
US military industry is trying its best to spin US arms as the best in the world, since Russia's been cucking them out of contracts all over the world lately.
>expecting Dice to actually tell the truth
surprised nobody has mentioned the marder II, other than its glaring faults its still a pretty neat tank
The 150km figure for the transmission comes from some very dubious post-war testing done by the French.
The same tests also stated that the tank's rate of fire was 20RPM, which is of course bullshit.
It's likely that they were blowing transmissions out of incompetence, assuming the didn't just flub the numbers entirely.
>between a 10 and 15% spawn rate
Its presumed the French added a rack like there were in the Sherman for that rate of fire. In regards to the transmission problem, that was a legitimate issue during the war on all the heavy german tanks nothing like hearing about how half the shit for Kursk deciding to become staging ground bunkers as a kid. I don't think the French bothered to actually manufacture new shit and just used new old stock i.e leftovers.
Just a mobile AT gun. Gave the Panzer II a new life.
Leftists tend to be uneducated (the courses they take at university are brainwashing, not education) so you should not expect them to know any actual history.
he placed germany on a golden pedestal only to unintentionally knock it back over with his ridiculous economics and foreign policy. the german economy wouldn't have withstood the pressure of repaying the funny-money vouchers that were issued like candy to most german industry, and it totally necessitated acquisition of assets that existed outside of germany's present economy. the whole nation was financially overburdened and running on an illusory fiat market high that was only prolonged because imminent war was a profitable distraction. the growth seen since '33 wouldn't have lasted if he didnt autistically pick fights with major european powers. not only that, but state funds were grossly misappropriated both before and during the war by himmler for his masturbatory hyperborean excavation fantasy. it's not that the nazis did everything wrong, far from it. but their long-term plan was fatally flawed. the attempt to sway people with romantic oratory is consistently in the hope that everyone forgets the strategic missteps that very predictably precipitated their downfall.
Your post is complete bullshit.
>ridiculous economics and foreign policy
What's ridiculous about it? It freed Germany from control of the international banks. These type of lies you're telling do not work here.
And basing your money on the actual production of people rather than on usurious practices or on gold/silver is one of the main reasons why the kikes saw the need to destroy Germany.
The only point you have is regarding Himmler and his fantastical bullshit. The rest of it is drivel.
t. absolute retard who doesn't understand economics and just copy-pastes bullshit he read online
you can't back vouchers with more vouchers, it creates an economic bubble.
there's a reason that people effectively 'made up' fiat currency so they could pretend that issue money was 'objectively' of a higher redeemable value than the cost of the materials put into it. it's entirely held up by a collective delusion of worth, but all value is subjective, so there's nothing new there. vouchers promising fiat at least promise the eventual redemption of 'real' property to the recipient's profit, but vouchers promising more vouchers blow up because the promised currency isn't fungible for other commercial transactions that redeem real assets. people want the voucher's 'real value' to be immediately represented in the pocket of the vendor. the issue was double because the german vouchers promised a value larger than the market could actually produce and none of it could be expected in foreign debt because lmao national self-sufficiency.
i don't like market globalization, but there's a reason that people created economies of debt in order to facilitate the kind of growth germany saw leading up to ww2. independent markets tend to crawl grow very slowly when they don't expect outside payments. funny enough, the germans were still accepting international money, just indirectly, from their ostensible enemies.
If they adjusted the spawn rates for the girls no one would complain, make it 1% to 5% so people actually go out their way to hunt for them and display as a trophy, because who doesn't want a cute girl leading its army in a videogame? Hackeo Kuckjima's latest games did a similar thing and people actually farmed for S rank female soldiers to add to their ranks even if you couldn't see their faces, the moans and subtle breast jiggling were enough.
>discussions that spiral into personal attacks and prominently feature words like "cuck", "SJW", "feminazi"
Why do you repeat jewish lies, anon?
>you can't back vouchers with more vouchers, it creates an economic bubble.
Kind of like the one we live in today?
Also, all debt was backed by gold, raw materials and German work.
Why do you spread Jewish lies?
I remember Grandpappy telling me he himself wasn't a follower of hitler and got swept up in the war. By the time it started it was expected of every man to join the party and himself being a native Austrian there was some reluctance to join in a war on Germany's behest.
He worked on U-Boats over the Atlantic, one of the rare few who actually came back from an endeavor and was actually out at sea when the war ended.
you're actually right, fractional banking is a cancer, but that's besides the point.
'german work' and 'raw materials' are both transaction capital. before you niggers start wailing about the jews, this is literally out of adam smith. they can't be used to simultaneously back the transaction since the materials are used for the product and the work can't back itself. i'm pretty sure none of that nazi gold existed and is all but confirmed to be an allied myth, what was found and reported of german reserves wasn't huge.
but i don't know why i'm responding because two nearly identical reddit-spaced rebuttals within the span of two minutes is giving me an absolutely massive think
You're right Germany's money was backed by work, money wasn't printed like it was nothing or Germany would return to the Weimar era where everyone was a poor millionaire who couldn't afford a loaf of bread. Germany had to drop gold however since it didn't have any (they were completely broke, they couldn't even pay Versailles sometimes and were almost invaded again), and I think the US confiscated some of its gold later on (even today Germany is forced by the jews to keep half of its gold reserves outside its borders).
Shit, that was the deadliest job I think. Boredom 99% of the time, way too much excitement for the remaining 1%.
Adding a ready rack isn't going to double the ROF when the ammunition is stored within the loader's reach to begin with.
That's assuming an a ready rack was installed at all since that's just hypothesis to begin with.
>In regards to the transmission problem, that was a legitimate issue during the war
There's a huge difference between it being a legitimate issue and "average transmission lifespan of 150km".
Don't you think it's strange that the figure only shows up in one, flawed, analysis and not in German or American testing?

But ii is not, EA, not only changes historical events to cater to progressives, but also lies and throw under the rug games of your own brand that did it better, twenty years ago.
>That reminds me, how come does this have starting to be a trend lately? I mean do they somehow disregard at the astonishing K:D ratio of the tank itself?
German tank operators were just that skilled.
But, the truth is that they just want a narrative that German craftsmanship was poor because the old idea of Nazi Germany as some sort of all-powerful titan that overshadowed the Allied "underdogs" doesn't work anymore. People are better educated and understand that the Axis were the underdogs and that Germany got so far as it did only due to skill and determination, and that National Socialism played a large part in getting their nation into shape to do as well as they did.
More, the idea of a powerful Germany does appeal to white youth today who are brought up being barraged with hatred and bile against them in the media and in their school system. Even non-German whites, the more so as the "Nazi Germany hated non-Germans!" myth crumbles and every white kid whether Germanic or Slavic or Romanic or Celtic or Finno-Ugric, realizes he would have been welcome in the SS, and starts to look up to Nazi Germany as a heroic example and something we ought to bring back.
So the new story is to acknowledge that Germany was the weaker power, but to portray them as a little crackpot North Korea style country, full of incompetence and impotent malice, that were crushed like bugs by the heroic Soviets. This means downplaying the quality of German technology, it means downplaying the fantastic performance and kill ratio of German soldiers, it means attacking the honour and integrity of German leadership, etc. The old story of Germany as the big bad evil doesn't work anymore so they want to portray Germany as weak incompetent little shits, with parallels to the relative powerlessness of nationalists in the west today vs jewish power, and encourage their antifa goons to "re-enact" WW2 by attacking nationalists while police protect them from nationalist retaliation.
Expect this to get worse as time goes by - casualty figures will probably revised to lower the Allied and Comintern death toll so that German soldiers look less skilled. The German economic miracle is already downplayed by jewish economists, but it will get more pronounced over time and they'll eventually start to claim there was no economic recovery at all. Only the holohoax will grow larger.
>Only the holohoax will grow larger
Hasn't the number dropped over time? 10 mill to 6 mil to 1.5 mil if you track the inscription outside Auschwitz.
>He doesn't know
Took me two seconds to look it up.
>The research covered some 42,400 camps and ghettos across Europe, and also included forced-labour camps and Nazi "care" centres where pregnant women were forced to have an abortion or had their child killed right after giving birth. It also drew in camps, prisons and killing grounds used by Nazi puppet regimes in countries such as France and Romania.
>The lead editors on the project, Geoffrey Megargee and Martin Dean, estimate that 15 million to 20 million people died or were imprisoned in the sites that they have identified as part of a multivolume encyclopedia.
That's the 19 mil POW figure, with all the "casualties of war" counted in rather than the Jewish. Given that a) it was war b) concentration camps were common procedure at the time c) does not come even close to Stalin and Mao. Basically, counting a couple of faggot newspapers clickbaiting is intellectual dishonesty.

It worth pointing out that this only got illegal after the Nuremberg trails. Which was a sham in and of itself.
law doesn't matter during war time
whoever wins decides the law, so just cos the Nuremberg trials gave soldiers the ok to disovey orders they don't agree with that doesn't mean your superior ain't gonna stick your head on a pike to make an example out of your unsubornitaded ass
if it's war and i get the order to shoot, i'll shoot, becos i don't wanna get shoot myself
>hurrdurr soldiers following orders is not an excuse to lill people during wartime
>>implying soldiers who refuse to do so won't get executed for treason
It must have sucked to be a soldier of the USSR and Nazi Germany.
Soldiers aren't robots and nobody is exempt from taking responsibility(in the West).
That's only true for third world countries. You'll get fucked in the West for doing anything illegal.
>German craftsmanship was poor
Not going to happen. Germany is too well known for quality and that isn't something that can ever really go away.
>Nazi Germany as a heroic example and something we ought to bring back
It won't ever happen again in the West and it would have lasted longer had Hitler not attacked his neighbors like the retard that he was. He got lucky when Chamberlain cucked out. He had a chance to take out the British early in the war, but he failed at that too when he let the Bismarck get blown up. The Soviet Union was beaten back and it would have fallen had Hitler not allowed a multi-front war to bog him down.
> "Nazi Germany hated non-Germans!" myth
Nazi Germany was pro-German. That was their main idea. They didn't really hate anyone else. They just wanted Germany for Germans.
>They loved Hitler
Of course they did. That's how he was able to get Germany moving forward like he did. He really should have listened to his generals more during the war though. Leaving Britain around ended up fucking him over and the Japs gave the US an official reason to enter the war. All he had to do was take out Britain and lock down the Pacific by not letting his navy get fucked.
Of course there were good people on both sides like there were shitty people on both sides. Leftists(socialists and commies) need to demonize those that disagree with or challenge their viewpoints, because they're largely retarded.
>All he had to do was take out Britain
How? In most of what I've read Sealion would not have been successful. The best case scenario I've read is if Germany was lucky they could've established a beachhead but it would've been quickly cut off from supply.
>>You'll get fucked in the West for doing anything illegal.
>>Soldiers aren't robots and nobody is exempt from taking responsibility(in the West).
>not commonly performing illegal military operations with dubious casus belli at best
>not excusing the actions of their own troops on any possible grounds
The My Lai massacre is just one example and it's hilarious that you would even think the way you do.
Hitler's generals were wrong alot of the time; the idea that if he had just listened to them more, then the war would've been won, is complete bullshit.
For example, the generals for the eastern front wanted to take Moscow as soon as possible, because they believed that once the capital of the USSR was taken, they would've surrendered - just like how France surrendered after Paris was taken. However, Russia and France are different; there is no reason to believe that a nation as big as Russia would surrender after the loss of their capital, the same way that France did; and indeed there's historical precedent for them not surrendering after they lost their capital, but rather waiting and using attrition to wear the enemy down before retaking it (ie the Napoleonic invasion).
Hitler said that rather than rushing right for Moscow, it would be better to focus on controlling the oil fields of eastern and southern Ukraine. This was the superior strategy, one of many that Hitler got right and his generals got wrong.
>no reason to believe that a nation as big as Russia
The Soviets had little in the way of redundancy in their railway and telecommunications systems.Taking Moscow would have severed both systems, making the Soviet Union's size work against them.
>It must have sucked to be a soldier of the USSR and Nazi Germany.
Germany wasn't that different from other countries, but the USSR soldiers had it pretty bad. Anyone retreating without an order from the propaganda officer or HQ would be killed and their family sent to Siberia (which is a retarded move since sometimes the best you can do is regroup and try again). Soldiers marched with machineguns to their backs (not literally, soldiers had order to shoot anyone retreating). Germany wouldn't kill someone for refusing to do their job I think, unless they were high-ranking, they would go to a military prison though. It's the same to this day, if you join any army and decide to put others' lives at risk you go to jail.
>You'll get fucked in the West for doing anything illegal.
France and UK had rape squads using their colonial troops (european troops didn't rape, not in general and that could get you a bullet). The US still use them in Japan, every year a nip is raped by a nigger soldier of the occupying forces.
>the Japs gave the US an official reason to enter the war.
The japs delayed the US. If they had bet everything on that attack the US would take forever to be able to attack. The US was already fighting them by preventing Japan's access to oil and with air force pilots attacking from China (not with the US flag, but the people getting killed don't care much for how fashionable the plane is).
>My Lai massacre
To be fair, that was 60s Vietnam and the lives of Asians didn't much to anyone in the West.
>not excusing the actions of their own troops on any possible grounds
You wish. If they can survive the military court, then they had more info than civies did.
>not commonly performing illegal military operations with dubious casus belli at best
Just cause is just cause. Personally, Ahmeds can get fucked back to their mudhuts for all I care.

>it was the 60s!
>who cares, it's just some mud people what do you know about this anyway!
Not that I have any particular attachment to either of those, but do you see how duplicitous and two-faced you people are?
That lack of honesty and integrity is what disappoints me the most.
At least admit you only play by your own rules and don't give a fuck whether something is legal or not because you can just say it's fine or find a scapegoat at worst.
You know what tank had front armor equal to that of a Tiger, could penetrate its most common adversary before it could be penetrated before it was even up-gunned, could cross a bridge, and could do a total transmission and final drive swap in only six manhours as opposed to a panther's twelve?
Guess how we know you don't belong here.
Can't wait until Battlefield 2143 where strang womenz of colour lead both EU and PAC forces and crush masculinity using just words as violence is bad.
>reddit-spaced rebuttals within the span of two minutes is giving me an absolutely massive think
"rebuttals", we got tons of redditors going around who just checked out /pol/ and now pretend their worldview cannot be undisputed unless you're leftist or a kike. Don't let them deter you.
The irony in this post is astounding.
Strafbataillons were used heavily by the Germans. SS men got it the worst though, loss of their collar tabs and sent on missions the reds would have considered suicidal.
your insights are interesting, don't be discouraged by people who equate being right with never making any mistakes ever, economically, militarily, morally or socially.
My grandfather was part of the Blue Division in Stalingrad, apparently his Division was the only foreign Division to ever be granted a medal of their own by the Germans. Apparently they were looked down upon by the Germans for being less organized, but highly praised for their skill in battle, hence a medal being made for their efforts. Mind you all Blue Division soldiers were volunteers, Spain had no stake in the battle for Stalingrad yet many were willing to join the fight even after Franco and Hitler fell out of favor with each other when Hitler asked Franco to join the war, and Franco demanded plenty of military equipment in order to make up for the losses in the civil war.
So working with the Germans as a foreigner was pretty good, now my grandfather was put in a gulag when he was captured, and apparently Gulags were work camps where they'd starve you to death while keeping you working non-stop, only occasionally feeding you a thin stew made out of wild berries found in nearby bushes, he only survived by being skinny, and by not being a Kraut, since Krauts were never ever released from said camps.
Is that an m72 LAW? Shouldn't it be something more appropriate like a Panzerfaust?
I enjoyed how you had to compare it to three different adversaries to give it praise.
If the devs wanted to pretend the French resistance was ever relevant, why not also give them cold-war weaponry?
I compared it against three adversaries because it is superior to all of them in the most important aspects of a tank.
The panzer 4 was the mainstay of the Wehrmacht, and it was wholly inferior to the 75mm M4 as that could penetrate it before the panzer could. I don't understand why you get to dickwave about how great the 88 on the tiger was when panzer 4s had to actually fight against an opponent it couldn't hurt every single day and not twice in the entire war.
I guess I should correct myself in saying that every German tank from the Panzer Three up takes around 12 man hours to replace the tranny because of their retarded design that forces you to gut the entire driver and radio operator compartment just to get to the damn thing. The Panzer three actually requires you to remove the turret to get to it. Even if you think straight toothed gears designed for when the tank was supposed to be half as heavy as it turned out to be actually worked and never broke down as stupidly often as they did, (remember, 72% OF ALL PANTHERS BROKE DOWN BY EATING THEIR OWN TRANSMISSIONS BEFORE OPERATION CITADEL BEGAN) You still need to rip half the god damn tank apart before getting to it. The M4s transmission? undo a handful of bolts on the front plate of the tank.
American crewed M4s only ran into tigers a grand total of two times in all of Europe. And both times they won the engagement. Though the second engagement they weren't shooting back because they were being loaded onto train cars. The Tigers couldn't face off against the M4s because they were all broken down, couldn't reach the combat theater because of their weight, and were too fucking expensive to build replacements of. All this for the same armor of a "poorly armored" M4 with none of the mobility.
I can go on into the superior crew comfort, scanning optics and gyroscope capability's that allowed severely under-gunned 75mm M4s to take out a force of panthers twice the number of them at Arracourt, the big and spring assisted hatches meaning that a grand total of like, 86 American tankers died in the entirety of the north African and Sicily campaign including deaths outside of combat. And the fact that the M4 obtained just as silly kill death ratios against T34s in Korea. German armor never performed well against American armor outside of a few isolated incidents that made them into a meme.
>oy vey it's not the US as a whole, it's just a small clique inside the US!
I don't dislike the M4, it is a good tank, but this wave of fanboyism that's been going for a few years now is nothing new.
First it was the Tiger, then it was the T-34 and now everyone with a passing interest in tanks is jerking off over the M4.
>panzer 4s had to actually fight against an opponent it couldn't hurt
The long 75mm Panzer IV's gun will penetrate about 130mm at a kilometer, which will do the turret out past a kilometer and the hull at seven or eight hundred meters depending on whether it's welded or cast.
>every German tank from the Panzer Three up takes around 12 man hours to replace the tranny
Where did you get those numbers, and why didn't you also state how long it took to change M4's transmission?
The downside to the M4's hull construction is that it puts (multiple on some models) bolted seams across the front of the tank.
The only layout that doesn't have glaring flaws is to have both the engine and transmission mounted at the rear of the tank.
>72% OF ALL PANTHERS BROKE DOWN BY EATING THEIR OWN TRANSMISSIONS BEFORE OPERATION CITADEL BEGAN
And it was a fiasco, not the standard for the Panther's reliability throughout the war.
>You still need to rip half the god damn tank apart before getting to it
Two seats, driver's controls, radio and hull MG isn't "ripping half the tank apart".
>American crewed M4s only ran into tigers a grand total of two times in all of Europe. And both times they won the engagement.
And the Tiger ran into the M26 twice in Europe and lost once and won once, so I guess the M4 is better than them both or something.
>he Tigers couldn't face off against the M4s because they were all broken down, couldn't reach the combat theater because of their weight

The whole post is filled with half-truths and exaggerations, but bullshitting about about the Tiger's readiness rate is like something from a trashy history channel documentary .
>All this for the same armor of a "poorly armored" M4 with none of the mobility.
Funny how that works, they both had similar top speeds and the Tiger was better than most makes of M4 in rough ground too.
But hey, lets just keep repeating memes and myths as it suits us.
You mean a 1X periscope that was needed because the M4 didn't have a cupola until the end of the war.
I can't believe anyone thought it would be a good idea to put a stabilizer on a tank, but not provide the gunner with an articulated sight.
When the tank moved, the eyepiece would jerk up and down with the gun in relation to the tank's interior as the stabilizer moved it.
They couldn't have been that happy with it since after the M4, they dropped stabilization altogether until the 80's or so.
>the big and spring assisted hatches
For the crew who had them.
Remember, it took until '44 before any M4's even had a loader's hatch.
>German armor never performed well against American armor outside of a few isolated incidents that made them into a meme.
Incidents that favor my view are valid, incidents that don't are just memes.
