KILLER robots will be an “existential human threat” unless manufacturers are slapped with strict regulations, an AI expert has warned.

By David Rivers / Published 29th June 2019

Dr Ian Pearson, an ex-cybernetics engineer, says our species risks a future "robot uprising".

The futurologist said manufacturers who do not follow guidelines risk leaving robots to turn against us.

He told Daily Star Online: "Military robots obviously would be able to kill people, but only a few.

"To be an existential threat, there would need to be many millions of them that have become a threat without anyone noticing, and that seems unlikely.

"Although again, it assumes a modicum of intelligence in regulation.

"Robots plus online AI is a different threat. Online AI could possibly shut down or sabotage human defences while turning our defences on ourselves in coordination with a robot uprising.

Hey guys I'm a 19 year old digital nomad living in Eastern Europe (but from America). I launched my first website, Tiblar. It's sort of like Tumblr but has lax rules and more privacy conscious (no ads, no external javascript/css, no logs). Here's a profile with the cyberpunk theme:

https://tiblar.com/neuromancer/

The main page: https://tiblar.com/

Any feedback would be awesome. I'm working on a JavaScript free + hidden service version. Open source will come when I'm satisfied with everything. It's still in beta so more features are coming.

I was going to just say "kill yourself nigger", but I realize that's probably not good for my psyche.

So I'll tell you this:

With that neon aesthetic, identifying yourself as a "digital nomad", etc. you are trying to appeal to normalfags. We already have a Tor-accessible social network. It's called "8chan". Taking that and adding namefagging and user profiles is not making it better, it's making it worse.

Take this anon's >>56812 advice and invest yourself in creating something truly innovative. You are young. You can become a specialist in anything you want. Creating something like this but decentralized and with client-side democratic moderation could make you famous by the time you're 23. Invest your time wisely.

yeah because I don't want just 5 people to use my service.

There's already so many distributed platforms. Which is more popular/works better: Matrix or Discord, YouTube or PeerTube, ZeroNet or the regular net, Bitcoin or PayPal, Twitter or Mastodon, etc. I figure I can ensure better privacy and more normie friendly use will have better results. Honestly most centralized services would be fine if they took basic steps to ensure user privacy.

The gameplay footage makes it clear this game will be an SJW call of duty wanna be pile of trash.

Arma 3 is more cyberpunk than this without even trying. I'd rather replay Deus Ex or Half Life yet another time than this crap.

Even the shitty Deus Ex spinoffs don't make it this obvious (except with the whole aug lives matter thing which is so ridiculous that it could have been done as some kind of satire with plausible deniability).

>>56811

Out of the 8 characters, only 1 is a white man. Then there are 4 white women, two black men and the token chink. And the white guy is the smallest characters of the two, which suggest the woman is the important character and the guy is just a sidekick. And while the other people are shown in self-confident, expressive poses and clothes, the white guy is faceless and wearing a dull uniform for some kind of private security force, suggesting he's just a pawn for some evil corporation rather than a member of the elite like the woman seems to be, or one of the characters rebelling against the evil regime in the other pictures.

this but unironically. I see two big red flags with this game:

>no one discusses what actual gameplay genre it is

>idpol garbage

the first alone is enough to make me not want it (why would I buy something that no one can even tell me what it is or why I would want it?) but that it's being used for neo-shit-lib/alt-right pandering all the time tells me that whatever the hell kind of game it is, it certainly can't stand on its own merits and needs political shit-stirring to prop it up

but seriously, is 2077 gonna be a tactics game? an fps? strategy? a straight-up CRPG? at least ShadowRun Returns made it clear that it's an xcom-wannabe tactics game. same for Invisible Inc. Deus Ex games are clearly marketed as FPS games. what the fuck is 2077 gonna be?

No you aren't you fucking larper, the nazi party died in 45.

>I'll be getting 2077

I will play it too at some point, my post was obviously an exaggeration. The point is, it could have been better, especially:

1. The gun mechanics which by what I've seen are aimed at 8 yo kids who are impressed by lots of sparks, smoke and that "badass" jerky unrealistic reloading animation that's on every other modern normalfag game for some reason.

2. Having a large amount of women and flaming homos, rather than something like the original Deus Ex in which rebels were either poor mercenaries risking their lives to make some brouzouf to survive, or normal people who just wanted to end the actual misery that was all around them dressed in a bit of tactischway gear.

3. Having too many gimicky interactions with the environment that aren't interesting, funny nor increase immersion, and are done in the same "badass" jerky style of animation that I mentioned above. At least in Quake 4 they were just an excuse to show more gore scenes.

4. The character being a bullet sponge and healing by itself because of some nano-augmentation bullshit excuse they'll make so normalfags don't get frustrated by dying.

5. I'm calling it now: the dialogue and storyline will be less reactive to the choices the player makes than the original Deus Ex. You will get the typical 3 endings you can choose from at the end and that's it. Maybe you will be able to choose which ones and in which order you do the missions, like in the GTA series. Police will be retarded so you can have fun killing random people as long as you wait a bit for the wanted state to go away. Bodies will be made of indestructible rubber, no gore other than a little blood.

6. The plot will be kosher copy-paste bullshit from century old themes (muh corporations and government composed mainly of white people with no slanted noses, muh vibrant diverse revolutionaries, muh Ayy Ai turning against its creator) with no interesting aspects or depth whatsoever.

7. Muh "hacPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Recently I have been taking UAs and had my levels checked for several chemicals. Turns out my creatine levels were extremely low. There are several reasons why this could be the case, however it is probably related to the fact that I work out three on two off and that I donate plasma twice a week.

This lead me to taking a powder supplement which brought about some increases in my ability to sprint and quickly lift slightly. Most of all it's reduced my fatigue and recovery time from both activities.

Anyway, I figured my little anecdotal tale belonged here.

This is a new series I am going to make based on the products collectively known as Automatic License Plate Readers (aka ALPRs). There is a lot of mystery and myth surrounding this technology as well as methods of effectively evading it, if any exist at all. Collectively I am confident we can find a solution to the Automated threat

>inb4 if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear

Fuck you.

>What is it?

"Typically, ALPR systems are comprised of high-speed cameras connected to computers that photograph every license plate that passes. The photo is converted to letters and numbers, which are attached to a time and location stamp, then uploaded to a central server. This allows police to identify and record the locations of vehicles in real time and also identify where those vehicles have been in the past. Using this information, police could establish driving patterns for individual cars. The type of data ALPRs collect, analyze, and access often depends on what kind of systems they use and how they combine the data."

Much like Stringrays (cell towerspoofing MITM devices used by LEO) a few years back, these devices are essentially unregulated. When used by private parties have been they have been able to scan up to 8k license plates in a single day, according to only one study. These databases are up for sale, much like cell location data. GREETINGS /cyber/

The Infinity Cup is returning once again, and 8chan's boards will be fighting it out on the pitch to claim divegrass supremacy. As a board that has participated in the Cup at one point or another in its history, you are invited to the reveal stream for 2019 Summer edition of the Cup. On Saturday June 22nd, at 3 PM EDT/7 PM UTC, on cytu.be/r/8cup I'll be giving you guys an early look at the Cup's 5th edition, which will include revamped aesthetics, team stadiums and other quality of life improvements I've figured out how to do in PES 17. Hopefully this will get anons back on board with the Cup, considering it has struggled mightily since its 2nd incarnation.

So how is it going to go down? I'll be staging a couple of exhibition matches between teams using their rosters from the last Cup, and we'll shitpost our merry way through the stream. Once the stream ends, entries will be open for the Cup, and boards can start putting together/editing their rosters and kits. Entries will close in early July, the field will be determined, and the Group Draw will take place approximately a week before the Cup kicks off in August. I'm also hoping to possibly introduce managers for the Cup, although I'm still working out the details to keep this from devolving into a namefag dick measuring contest. I hope you all will tune in, and in case you aren't caught up on your board's history, I've provided some links below to get you caught up:

Looks fucking 水

>Harley Davidson looks like it will be the first company to market with a mainstream electric motorcycle, according to engadget. The company's LiveWire electric motorcycle will soon be on the road and will have a longer range than expected, at 140 miles of city driving on a single charge. But, like any other electric vehicle, you’ll still need to hook it up to a charger once in a while.

>According to Harley Davidson's website, the bike will be "available in select dealerships through North America and Western Europe in the fall of 2019. Select additional markets will follow."

>The motorcycle has been in the works for more than four years now. You'll be able to charge it with a Level 1 charger at home, or with a quicker Level 2 or 3 DC fast chargers, that'll be available at Harley Davidson dealerships.

<The bike comes with seven riding modes that tune the suspension and electric drivetrain differently. It sports anti-lock brakes and a traction control system, along with a color touchscreen for navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

>Harley Davidson is offering free charging for its new US customers.

<The motorcycle is soon going to be available at a limited number of dealerships and will cost about $30,000. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just three seconds. There is no clutch and no shifting.

>Harley Davidson is looking to revitalize its business after struggling with declining sales and an aging client base both in the United States and abroad. Sales of its motorcycles were down 4.2% and international sales were down 3.3% in the first quarter of 2019.

Easy to predict this will fail. You dont buy a 30000 USD motorcycle to save on gas, and the whole culture surronding motorcycles isnt a bunch of future forward early adopters anyway. This is a product for no one.

 No.56808

>motorcycle not restricted by the usual gravity-feeding gas tank over an engine setup

>still tries to use that profile for no reason

it looks really uncomfortable to ride and there's no reason for it to look the way it does. they had all the opportunity to style this in lots of better ways and just chose not to.

>>56805

also this. motorcycle people who get them to save gas would rather scooters (that already exist and can rip a completely adequate level of shit even in battery powered models) and people who want to GOFAST also want loud engines and dual straight exhausts and shit so they can wake people up at 3am. this is a product that appeals to basically only nerds who want to virtue signal how green they are and/or how futuristic their stuff is, who mostly don't ride motorcycles and would likely prefer something like a SMART ForTwo with electric drive or drive FUCKING LEAFS and such

Some of these look schway and are much more inexpensive. howere, you have to be more conscious of the range so you can get back home for a charge. some of them can't travel too far. ok if you're in a city though.

because estonia has only 1,500,000 people and the main city Tallinn is quite small at 500,000.

Definitely not cyberpunk

You need a single city to be about 10,000,000 people to be cyberpunk.

>tokyo

10-20 million people in the metro area

>hong kong

30 million people in hong kong and shenzhen

>shanghai + tianjin

also about 30 million people

>shanghai

10 million I think

>singapore

6 million (muh 6 million)

What are some /cyber/ cities? I am going to be graduating university in a few months and then moving somewhere shortly thereafter. Ideally it will be a city with technology jobs, but your suggestions don't necessarily have to have that quality.

Current prospects:

Austin, TX

Seattle, WA

Pasadena, Texas.

>Suburb of Houston

>7th-largest city in state

>Shitty little run-down mess of a town that's almost entirely Mexican at this point and is going nowhere.

>ALL of the oil refineries next to the largest port in the Gulf of Mexico.

>when things go wrong at refineries, the "flare" or burn off the messed-up products in a giant six-story hot flame that can cause brief moments of daylight-brightness at night.

>This is what all those fireballs at the beginning of Blade Runner _are_.

>City looks like an industrial hellhole surrounded by decaying working-class neighborhoods.

>Don't move there.

>STILL very cyberpunk since it's 100% unlivable industrial waste and 100% lowlife fucks doing whatever they want.

>Also next to Houston, city where any even kinda middle-class or better space is a fucking United Colors of Bennington ad. Most diverse city on planet.
